Rugby has its own language, and a team name that ignores it sounds like it was picked by somebody who has never been in a ruck.
Forwards and backs want different things out of a name, and a touch side wants something different again. Whatever you land on, TeamGear Canada will build your rugby jerseys to take a season of it — start your design here.
The names below are grouped by the format you actually play, because fifteens, sevens and touch are three different sports wearing the same shirt.
Fifteens is where the set-piece vocabulary lives — the scrum, the lineout, the rolling maul, the breakdown — and a club side can carry a heavier, more technical name because the whole league speaks the language. Sevens strips all of that out: fourteen minutes, enormous space, and names that are quick and loud because the tournament announcer is reading them all day. Touch is the social end, often mixed and often played on a weeknight pitch after work, and the names reflect that.
One note on the last group. Rugby's third half — the clubhouse afterwards — is part of the sport in a way it is not in most games, and a lot of the best club names come out of it rather than out of anything that happened on the pitch.

Conclusion
Pick one the front row will actually say. Rugby names get used in the clubhouse far more than on the pitch, and anything too clever gets shortened to one syllable by the second week anyway.
Once you have picked one, we will put it on a jersey. TeamGear Canada makes custom rugby jerseys in our own Canadian factory — no minimum order, free design work, names and numbers included. Start your design here.
