Frequently Asked Questions

How long do custom hi-vis jerseys take?

It typically takes us just 4 weeks to create your custom jerseys domestically, at our factory in Mississauga, ON.

What printing method is used?

All products at TeamGear are 100% sublimated. In full sublimation printing, all components of the configured design (colors, numbers, motifs, etc.) are transferred to the material using a special heat pressing method.
For this reason, no cotton products can be sublimated, as they would start to burn. We therefore use 100% polyester for most custom products. The material is easy-care, breathable and durable for long term wear.

How does sizing work?

We have Mens (Adults), Ladies & Youth sizing available for most products.

Our sizes follow North American standards, so they are more true-to-fit. The Mens/Adult sizes are a straight body cut, while the ladies are slightly tapered at the waist to provide a trimmer fit. We recommend going with your typical size.

Our sizes can be found at teamgear.ca/pages/size-charts or you can click here

Do you need to bring a design to make my custom hi-vis clothing or jerseys?

Absolutely not! We have a team of custom jersey designers & custom logo designers, who are incredibly skilled at delivering your design from any example - whether it's screenshots of images, hand-drawn or just a concept.

I have a design in mind for my custom hi-vis jacket, how long will it take to turn it into artwork?

Initial designs will typically be presented to you within 3-5 business days. Once we have your approval on each design, we will begin creating your custom sportswear.

Is there any trick regarding the free design?

No tricks! Just send us your idea in our design form here and we'll get started once we have the necessary information.

Do you charge for designs?

There is no charge for your initial design, however we do require a deposit before any revisions. The artwork deposit goes towards your final order.

Do you charge for revisions?

Can we cancel or return our order?

Since everything we produce is strictly custom printed, we cannot accommodate any cancellations or returns.
We also cannot guarantee any alterations or changes to your order once it is approved and in production.

How do I wash, dry & care for my custom hi-vis items?

The best ways to wash & care for your custom hi-vis shirts & sportswear are as follows:
- fasten any buttons or zippers & turn garments inside out before washing
- wash on a gentle cycle, being sure not to wash with other zipper or velcro items that may catch on the fabric
- hang drying is best, and also helps to avoid wrinkles
- do not iron
These washing steps will help to keep the fabric long lasting, and your designs won't fade as they are baked right into the fabric itself.

Will my hi-vis jerseys shrink?

Our jersey fabrics are not prone to shrinkage, as they are heat-treated during the printing process.
We recommend hang drying your hi-vis shirts to avoid wrinkles.
Our jerseys are lightweight and quick drying, but you can also use your dryer on a low heat setting if you need faster drying.

Can I request product samples?

Yes! Contact us and we can arrange a viewing of our samples. You can also pick up from our location in Hamilton.
Please note, that we only pay the costs of the outbound shipment. The return shipment is at your expense. We cannot offer return shipments free of charge.

What is the advantage of sublimation?

The sublimation process is superior to traditional printing, vinyl or flock for several reasons.
- Full design freedom without restrictions
- 100% breathable, since the product is not subsequently glued on
- 100% colour fast, even after the 100th washing cycle
- Durability, since the print does not become brittle or break

Can you colour match?

Absolutely. If you have colour codes, just let our team know ahead of time and we'll use those for your designs.
Note that the colours may appear differently on your screen than on fabric, as cellphone screens and monitors are all calibrated differently. Read more about colour matching in our blog post here.

What makes a Canadian made hi-vis t-shirt better?

At TeamGear Canada, we don't ship cheap products from overseas. All of our custom garments are made locally, right here in Canada.
This not only supports our local economy, but also drastically reduces our carbon footprint. Additionally, we proudly contribute 1% of our revenue to carbon removal efforts through the Stripe Climate initiative.
