To play ultimate you need a 175 gram disc, moulded cleats, and team jerseys in a light and a dark colour. Grip gloves and cones to mark the end zones are useful extras.

1. Ultimate Frisbee Jerseys & Uniform
Ultimate teams carry two jerseys, one light and one dark, because the home team wears light. We make sublimated ultimate jerseys and shorts in both, with player names and numbers included, so a team only orders once.

- Discraft UltraStar 175g Disc – the 175 g disc approved for official ultimate play, and the standard at pickup.
3. Cleats
Moulded soccer cleats are what most players wear. Metal cleats are not allowed.
- adidas Goletto VIII Firm Ground Cleats – a well-reviewed moulded cleat for grass and turf fields.
4. Grip Gloves
Ultimate gloves are thin and tacky, and they help most in wind, rain and the cold of a Canadian spring league.
- Layout Ultimate Gloves – thin grip gloves made for catching a disc in wind and rain.
5. Cones
Most fields don't have end zones lined for ultimate. Eight cones mark a full field.

FAQ
Why do ultimate players need light and dark jerseys?
Ultimate has no referees and teams sort themselves by colour, so leagues ask each team for a light and a dark jersey and decide who wears which each game.
What disc is used in ultimate frisbee?
A 175 gram disc. The Discraft UltraStar is the one most leagues and tournaments use.
Conclusion
Ultimate is one of the cheapest field sports to play. We recommend starting with a 175 gram disc, moulded cleats and light and dark team jerseys. Add gloves before your first rainy game.
